Unser Ansatz

Einfach ausgedrückt: Wir wollen Fingerboards herstellen, die Premium-Handwerkskunst mit einem fairen Preis verbinden - und gleichzeitig dafür sorgen, dass auch unsere Händler und Skateshops ihr angemessenes Stück vom Kuchen abbekommen.Wir stecken unsere Energie lieber in das Board selbst als in künstlichen Hype. Wir wollen uns durch übertriebenes Marketing nicht von unserer Kernarbeit entfernen lassen. Stattdessen legen wir unseren vollen Fokus auf das Wesentliche: die Performance unserer Boards zu pushen, Design und Produktion zu verfeinern, die Holzauswahl zu perfektionieren und natürlich freshe Artworks rauszuhauen. Kein Corporate-Blabla.Genau deshalb überlassen wir auch den Verkauf und Vertrieb erst einmal stolz unseren Handelspartnern, die echte Expertise darin haben. Das hält uns den Rücken frei von Ablenkungen, damit wir uns voll und ganz auf das konzentrieren können, was wir am besten können.

Nachhaltigkeits- strategie

Bei REDTAIL stehen wir voll hinter dem Konzept der starken Nachhaltigkeit. Wir glauben, dass natürliche Ressourcen eine unersetzliche Rolle für das menschliche Leben spielen, und lehnen die Vorstellung kategorisch ab, dass wirtschaftliches Wachstum jemals Umwelt- schäden ausgleichen kann.Wir versuchen, wo immer es geht, recycelte Holzreste (bzw. Upcycling-Reste) zu nutzen, und verwenden für unsere Rampen lokales Südtiroler Apfelbaum-Furnier. Aber machen wir uns nichts vor: Wir sind im Spielzeug- und Hobbysektor unterwegs, und wir weigern uns, unser Tun zu greenwashen. Fingerboarding ist ein unglaublich kreatives Ventil, eine fantastische Community und macht verdammt viel Spaß - aber jedes hergestellte Produkt hinterlässt einen ökologischen Fußabdruck. Kauf, was du brauchst, pass gut auf dein Equipment auf und lass uns das Ganze gemeinsam so verantwortungsvoll wie möglich angehen.

Das Team

Wir sind ein kleines, lokales Team und machen genau die Boards, auf die wir selbst Bock haben. Angefangen hat unsere Reise 2024 als bescheidenes Kellerprojekt.Als Skater, BMXer, Snowboarder und natürlich auch Fingerboarder schlägt unser Herz für den Boardsport. Wir brennen dafür, Produkte zu entwickeln, die den Sport voranbringen. Wir sitzen im schönen Bozen in Südtirol und vereinen Know-how in Design, Holzbearbeitung und Engineering. Zoey steuert die nötige Fachkompetenz im Feel-Good-Management bei und verwandelt stressige Tage im Handumdrehen in wau-tastische Tage.– Emily, Noel & Zoey

Step 1: Preparing

First things first: clean the deck. Ensure the top ply of your fingerboard is completely free of dust, oil, and old adhesive residue (in case you removed an old griptape before).Then gather your tools: You will need your pre-assembled fingerboard, a sheet of fingerboard griptape and a file (either a nail file or a metal file; a razor blade or hobby knife also do the job).

Step 2: Peel the Backing Paper

Carefully peel the protective backing paper away from the adhesive side of the griptape.Try not to touch the sticky side with your fingers to preserve maximum adhesion.

Step 3: Place the Griptape on the Deck

Hold the sheet of griptape loosely above the deck, aligning it carefully so it hangs evenly over all the edges.Gently lower the griptape onto the board, starting from the center and pressing outward to prevent air bubbles from getting trapped underneath.

Step 4: File off the excess Griptape

Take your file and hold it at a roughly 45-degree angle relative to the side of the board; this scores a clean, perfect cutting line through the tape edge.File only in one direction towards the bottom. You can achieve this by either pushing the file down from the top or pulling it downward toward the bottom edge. Avoid sawing back and forth.

Step 5: Fine Tuning and Smoothing

Run your file gently along the edges of the board one more time to refine the cut and clean up any loose fibers.Finish by firmly rubbing your thumb along the edges and corners to ensure the adhesive is completely bonded and smooth, leaving your deck looking clean and professional.We hope you were successful with your grip job and that your new setup feels amazing! Time to go shred.
